Reports to: Volunteer Resources Program Clerk
Duties:
The Hospitality Volunteer is responsible for creating a positive, friendly and comfortable environment that promotes donor satisfaction and retention by serving refreshments to donors following the donation process. This assignment has a variety of duties, including, but not limited to the following:
1. Welcome and serve refreshment items to donors upon their arrival from the donation area
2. Observe donors and alert clinic staff of adverse reactions
3. Assist donors to feel both valued and appreciated for their donation
4. Encourage and recognize donor participation in CBS initiatives, as appropriate
5. Adhere to policies, procedures and training requirements
6. Regularly review written volunteer duties and centre specific procedures
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
1. Friendly, outgoing and possess good communication skills
2. Excellent listening skills
3. Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
4. Sensitive and respectful of the dignity of all people
5. Able to relate to different personalities and age groups in a variety of situations
6. Able to observe and react appropriately to adverse situations
7. Professional in manner and appearance
8. Reliable and punctual
