Nature: Flexible time, continuous service
Brief Description: A project by S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Multi-Level Care Society in collaboration with Burnaby Hospice Society. Volunteers will serve and support Chinese speaking hospice/palliative clients and their caregiver through the Lower Mainland.
Duties:
1. visit clients at homes, hospitals, nursing home and/or hospices.
2. support clients and their caregivers by attentive listening
3. read books, newspaper
4. accompany clients for walk and/or participate in other activities
Qualifications/Skills/Experience
1. Mature
2. Speak English, Cantonese/Mandarin
3. Attend 8 sessions of training (free of charge)
6 Tuesday nights in 2008 (2/19, 2/26, 3/4, 3/11, 3/18, & 3/25)
2 Saturdays 2/23 & 3/1 (Full day and the date are subject to change)
Duration: No limit. Volunteers are expected to start service upon completion of the training.
