Do you have time and passion to assist non-English speaking immigrant seniors? Do you have talents to share with them?
Mature volunteers are needed to serve seniors living in the Richmond Hamilton community. We help elders fight against loneliness,, helplessness, and boredom. We believe volunteers are part of the caring circle providing companionship and support to immigrant seniors. We provide continuous learning and make every effort to ensure that volunteer achievements and contributions are recognized.
Nature:
1. Volunteering at Richmond Hamilton Community Centre (5140 Smith Drive, Richmond, B.C.)
2. Be committed to volunteer with sincerity and patience
3. Flexible time
Duties:
1. Assist seniors to overcome language barrier by providing information, filling government forms and liaising with various government departments by phone.
2. Assist staff in running social and recreational programs.
3. Administrative support. e.g. Data entry, filing
Qualifications/Skills/Experience
1. Speak English.
2. Speak either Mandarin or Cantonese.
